I had looked into this figuring the 700R4 may be a less expensive
alternative to an A518, not so You can build a decent A-518 for less that
building the 700R4 and adapting it to a MOPAR block.
The 727 does not have overdrive but is an excellent trans, easy to build
yourself and stronger than the GM unit.
There is a company that makes a low (2.75?) first gear drum set up for it, I
can find the info if you need it.

Thanks, Dave.  The 700R4 is known for it's low first gear. Properly
prepared, it can be fairly strong.  It can be adapted to the 330
hemi ;)
