[FWDLK] Radial Tires - suspension

My 59 Plymouth Sport Fury was driving terribly (steering and ride) since I bought it about 2 years ago.  Replaced seals in pwr steering box last summer, that improved steering about 50%. Rear leaft springs had no arch left so replaced them this spring along with rear shocks, that improved steering more and car rode better.  Was going to replace front shocks at same time but company sent wrong shocks so just got correct shocks last week, installed them - car steered better and cornered better, no lean, but still bumpy on bumps and tires would follow cracks, ruts, in road.  Figured it was the G78-14 wide whites that was doing it.  Today took the P215/70-14's off the parts car and for an experiment replaced the G78's with the radials and the bumpy ride is gone and the steering is fintastic.  The car is now fun to drive.    So IMHO radials are defiinitely the way to go with 59 Plymouth front ends, but like Mike Sealey implied, they might not work as well on other FL cars with different front ends.    John Z in Mosinee, WI
