I havent made it out to the garage yet, but an idea just occured to me.
Perhaps the door latch is "locked", by key. Have you tried the key?
If you determine the door is not "locked", then you should be able to hook
the rod that connects to the outside handle and pull up.
If the door is locked by key and you don't have a key, you either have to
take out the seats and go thru the doorpanel, and remove the keylock from
the door (it is held there by a slide clip).
This last tip is a bit violent, but If you plan to replace all the
locks, ( they are available NOS), you might try running a screw into the
keyhole, and then pull the cyinder out of the lock, so you can then operate
the lock with a screwdriver.
