Regarding the earlier discussion on the self-closing door latches on the
57-58 Plymouths, I found in a piece of sales literature on the 57
Plymouth a comparison chart of features on the Plymouth, Ford and
Chevrolet. One feature that is listed as unique to Plymouth was a
"self-tightening door latch"..... presume this is confirmation of what
Marv mentioned. I did notice early on with my own '57 Belvedere that if
the door did not close completely, I could puch it all the way closed
with light finger pressure. Never tried leaving it partly latched and
driving on a rough road, tho.....
