[FWDLK] Off Topic help question

Hi group,
 I usually learn and enjoy everyone else's situations/problems/repairs,
but this time I am stumped with my own.
 Here is the deal, I have a 76 Frod Econoline (it is a motorhome, so
yes, it has sat for a year).  I can get it to idle and rev wonderfully.
But put it in gear (automatic C6 transmission), it dies immediately
like I just shut it off.  Doesn't matter if I am idling or revving it
when I put it in gear. Is there a vacuum modulated part that is bad, or
is the tranny stuck/frozen?  Moved fine (a year ago).  I thank all who
can help!

On a different note, I waved down an owner the other day of a 55
Plymouth Belvedere station wagon.  He is not on the net, but was
interested in learning more.
