Gary - A Fram K21 oil filter adapter kit might do the job.  The application
sheet says this will fit the 56-57 Plymouth V-8 after engine #P29-8000.
According to this you have to check your engine #.  The heading on the
instruction sheet states "K21 KIT -    For converting bolt-on type full-flow
oil filter using Chrysler 2129023 cartridge or Fram CH236APL to Fram PH8A or
PH43 spin-on oil filter".  I put one on my 59 Plymouth with 318 engine -
works fine.  I got mine from Checker Auto $11.95, but any auto parts store
should be able to order it or have it in stock.   John Z in Mosinee, WI
