Re: [FWDLK] Oil Filters

Hello all,

I really think the reason the filters are bid cheap, is because Fram is
owned
by Allied/Bendix. This company also has Autolite plugs and wires. This is a
big
company. Most parts venders these days, and since the late '80's have what
is basicly known as a " Master Installer" plan. This allows the business
that
does lots of oil changes or any other type of work, (NOW PAY ATTENTION HERE)
to buy parts much cheaper than the average customer can buy it for, if
they can buy an "X" amount of parts a month.
REASON: The average person finally caught on that they were getting charged
more money for the parts installed on their vehicles than they could buy it
themselves. A typical example: DEALERSHIPS!!! They buy parts for what
you can get them for or cheaper, and charge you RETAIL price, and call it
an installed price. Maybe the Transit System is getting a "DEAL", just for
the business. Inturn, the parts vender is getting a rebate from the
manufacturer
to make-up the cost.
