[FWDLK] Fuel Sender Cross Reference?

Does anyone know if a 1959 Chrysler fuel sender, part number 1879 959, would interchange okay with a 1959 DeSoto Firesweep? I see the Chrysler has a "fuel vapor separator" which appears to be just a vent. Is it possible to use it and just plug the vent? Or, does anyone want to trade this one for one without a vent?
