Re: [FWDLK] Power Steering Question

My manual says if it drifts to the LEFT, move the valve housing down on the steering box, if RIGHT, slide it up.

Cheers!

Subject: [FWDLK] Power Steering Question

Hi All,

The power steering on my 1959 DeSoto Firesweep has a problem.  Even with the front wheels off the ground, the steering wheel will automatically move the wheels to the left.  While this would be fine if I was going to race her in NASCAR, for everyday driving it's not so hot.  The speed at which the wheels self-turn increases with the speed of the engine.

Anyone have any ideas on a solution, or do I need to have the steering assembly rebuilt?  If so, any good sources for parts?

Thanks,

-Dave
