Re: [FWDLK] Re-Building a 230 Cu. In. Flathead

I got a sleeve for my Dodge Caravan throught NAPA but check with
the manufacturer
Micro Sleeve (http://www.microsleeve.com/) in Arlington, TX (800 475-3383)
They will be able to give you the NAPA Part number. Do not even think about
instaling this without the installation tool. Believe me I tried. I thought
I could make my own tool because NAPA could not get the tool for a week. I
ended up going back for a second sleeve and the tool and waiting the week
anyway.

Those Balancer Pulley Sleeves used to be available through NAPA, in various
sizes. Check your local outlet.

( Make sure the harmonic damper isn't grooved from excessive wear. It
wasn't
until after the rebuild that my motor man warned me I might have a problem
here -- and I do. When the oil thins as it warms, I tend to lose oil from
the timing chain cover because of this wear. There's hope here, though, if
I can't find a NOS replacement; search the archive for my earlier post
about
it, you can get the balancer resleeved with a micro-thin stainless sleeve.)
