Re: [FWDLK] '57 Coronet convert

I've "talked" with the sellers, & they have been very riendly, &
informative, & have sent me extra photos of the car. They say the car
was driven for 3 years, beforebeing stored for the next 35, til they
bought it, in 95. Car is a real conv, w.white top, & gold/black
interior, except, now, they have dyed the gold-part of the trim panels
all-black(!) & have installed 70's-looking
couch-upholstery seat-covers, & replaced the original rubber floor mats
w/ carpeting. SMS will charge about $2k to provide a correct interior
(sans rubber mats). Other than that, car looks v/good! It's a 2-bbl,
dual exhaust model, but has optioncode #4 on its Paint/Trim plate, which
is all of the group-goodies except for 'plain' hubcaps.

Problem with long-stored cars is dried-out seals-n-everything. My car
had been stored in IN , for mucho years, & it had developed corrosion
within its cylinders, that (eventually. after I bought it) required a
40-over cylinder-boring.

If I bought the car, & intended to drive it, I'd plan on O/H'ing EVERY
mechanical component, except, mebbe, the differential.

I "like" the sellers, though, from my correspondences, with them!
