A few years back when I was 17 and the '61 Newport was still my daily
driver I got caught in a freak snowstorm coming home one night about 20
miles from home-I couldn't see more than 15 feet in front of me, but it
didn't look like it was about to let up, and I still had to make curfew
so I drove miserably through it-doing about 35 on the highway. It wasn't
the lack of visibility, it was that my one-speed wipers were sooo slow,
that I had to wait a few seconds to see that 15 feet. I think it was at
that point I considered getting something to drive on the snowy days...
