Thanks for the great information, Dave. I replaced the rear axle in my `60
Saratoga with a brand new Ford 9" with numerically lower gears. Wow, what a
great difference! So now that I can use the rear emergency brakes if I want,
I'm wondering how I want to swap in a newer Chrysler big-block. Many months
ago you advised me that I would need to use my existing crank in the new
engine to keep my pushbutton tranny, but I'm hesitant because I want a
well-balanced engine (my understanding is the older cranks can't take the
newer harmonic dampeners).
Anyway, it just goes to prove the formula that projects always exceed cash
on hand!
