I am thinking back to Dave Stragand's car troubles...had gas, spark, and
air, but wouldn't start. I think he found out it was sludge in the heads
keeping the valves from fully closing/opening.
Perhaps the short run sucked up sludge from the crankcase into the
rockers...you don't say how long this car has been inoperable
