[FWDLK] Serial number question

I add up the figures in my Chrysler book and get only 39,000 or so total
Windsors built for '60 not including wagons.   It says the serial number for
the sedans and coupes begins 8103-100001.  The serial number on the car I
bought is 8103-140392.

This leads to the question, did the sequential production numbers in the
plant stretch across all the lines, IE the first '60 built is the only one
with a 100001 serial number - the first Windsor wagon might have been say
the 248th car built, for a VIN 8503-100249?

Otherwise my serial number makes no sense, it's higher than the combined
production for all non-wagon Windsors both Detroit and Los Angeles. The way
the book reads it would seem to imply that each model and wagons all had a
100001 car beginning the series.  I don't build 'em, I mostly take them
apart, so if that seemed obvious to some of you it went over my head.
