Re: [FWDLK] QUESTION FOR YOU ALL= BASE SIZE OF CARBS

Ron,

The 56 WCFB carbs had a square bolt pattern on the base. The 57 WCFBs had a
larger rectangular bolt pattern. To use your stock 56 2x4 carbs, you should
be able to use a base gasket as a template to drill and tap new holes for
the square base pattern.

I think the 57 WCFB rectangular pattern is the same as the AFB in 58.

Remember that the part number in the book is NOT always the same as the
casting number on the part. A casting sometimes could be machined in more
than one way and have different numbers assigned to the finished part.

Subject: [FWDLK] QUESTION FOR YOU ALL= BASE SIZE OF CARBS

Hi

Question for you all? Is there a difference in the base size of the 56
and 57 two four manifolds carburetors and the 58 Fury 318 manifold
carburetors size? My book shows they both take part number 1732479 however I
have a factory cast iron manifold for two four carbs that has the part
number 1822004 and the stock 56 carb will not fit it??????????
