Re: [FWDLK] "46K ORIGINAL MILES!!?? "

Hello all,
I have heard similar stories from many muscle car guys. Someone on this list? once told the tale of them using up the last of the interior parts, and then shipping these odd-ball combinations to Texas, or the Southwest. I do know from personal experience that the line workers grabbed whatever was available. I have taken apart/seen/restored 1969 Chargers that had a number of '68 parts on them. (shift knobs, door handles, window cranks, small trim items, etc.) So they generally just grabbed the item from the bin and stuck it on.
Gotta love production work!

Charles.

I have also heard of the factory "using up" inventory at the end of the
model year. If this is true, I would suspect that this would lead to a
number of interesting "color combinations" and "extras" being put on the
car. Another thing to drive the restorers and judges nuts.
