I am preppin my triunk lid for paint. There was an insulation/noise damping pad on the bottom of the lid that was not in very good shape. It was removed when I had it sandblasted but there is still material under the cross braces between the braces and the sheetmetal. It is very tight probably 1/8 inch to work with and it is sandwiched in there. Has anyone removed this material and replaces it with anything else? I am thinking the best thing to do is just leave it alone.
