[FWDLK] Official List Virus Warning - W32/Explore.Zip Worm

OFFICIAL VIRUS ALERT

Hi all,

I hate using these lists as a means of disseminating virus information,
however as a list owner I am somewhat responsible for the safety of
those on my lists. Because the person spreading the virus in most
likely unaware that they are doing so, and might inadvertently send the
virus out to everyone on the lists. I feel it is my duty to keep all of
you are up-to-date on the potential danger.

As with any 'virus warning' though, I ask you don't take my word for
it. Please check it out for yourselves at:

http://www.avertlabs.com/public/datafiles/valerts/vinfo/va10185.asp

DETAILS:
There is a very DESTRUCTIVE new virus circulating so please take the
necessary precautions! This virus replicates itself via e-mail address
books, similar to the Melissa virus. Outlook users are most likely to be
impacted by this virus, but can affect all PC users. It is my
understanding that this virus seeks out and destroys Microsoft
Word/Excel/PowerPoint files on a user's hard drive, as well as all files
ending in .c, .asm, .cpp, and .h .

If you receive an e-mail containing an attachment labeled
"zipped_files.exe" DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT.

Please delete the attachment or the entire message. The virus e-mails
itself out as an attachment with the filename "zipped_files.exe". The
body of the e-mail message may appear to come from a known correspondent
and may contain the following text:

"Hi Recipient Name!
I received your email and I shall send you a reply ASAP. Till then,
take a look at the attached zipped docs.
bye"

Thanks,

-Dave Stragand
