Re: [FWDLK] Square HEAD in a round PORT?

The Plymouth poly has rectangular intake and exhaust ports, but it should be
noted that the 426 hemi does too.

Subject: [FWDLK] Square HEAD in a round PORT?

Why were (are) people from MN called "square heads" (like they were, in
the cowboy bank-
robber movie: "Long Riders"; nothing to do w/the KDS engines, I
presume?)

Anyway, I'm wondering if the rectangular
exhaust-ports wouldn't actually be larger than the round-ports, but,
maybe, the round-shape
"flow" better than the "square"-guys; the 2 combustion chambers are very
similar in design.

Exhaust headers would appear to be mo-difficult to fabricate, to fit
rectangular- ports; does the "Poly" PLY 318 have round ports?

Would there be any advantage to hogging-out
the round exhaust passages, to fit to a set of custom-made exhaust
headers?
