Re: [FWDLK] rocker panels

Being a bodyman for almost 20 years I've seen alot of aftermarket patch panels, the stuff JC Whitney sells is going to fit poorly, have the wrong curves and never look right.Like the old Shott panels did.The best way (other than NOS)is find a western salvage yard willing to cut the panels out of a donor car(they will usually give you inner and outer rockers as one piece)and there is usually alot of extra metal to trim off so you can use what you need.Next best is a metal fabricator,it's expensive, but worth it.Alot of restoration shops will do partial work, the metal worker I worked with in the past could make anything. He was from a restoration shop originally and then was working in the Hot Rod shop I worked in 12 year ago.Now I work in a new car dealer,no rust,Thank God!
