Dave Homstad has raised the issue/question about installing one, or
multiple, gaskets on their spark plugs, to try to orient the spark plug
electrode, in the combustion chamber, so as to present an unobstructed
flame-kernal, to the fuel/air mixture, via the intake/exhaust ports.

Has anyone ever done this (can you recall the protocol, or, better yet,
does anyone have a cylinder head lying around, that you can
'experiment-with', in this regard?

And, yes, I'm aware of multiple-electrode plugs, that are designed to
'eliminate' this condition/problem.

There's a good apark plug article in the "Winter" 2004 issue of Muscle
Car Review, which is back in publication, by Primedia.

Yes Some Folks think "Indexing" the sparkies does help a little with performance. But I think that this is usually reserved for very high performance attempts. Otherwise I am Not too sure that indexing the sparkies would be of a measurable benefit.
