I had the exact same plan, and I too think my bellows is too far gone.
Wasn't AAJ brakes working on a complete power set-up?  I thought I had heard
that somewhere ( possibly here?).  But if there are parts readily available
from junk yards that might work better for me (on a pretty tight budget and
all).
