Re: [FWDLK] driving an AT (Torqueflite or others)

Gosh, Philippe, I can't believe that no one has yet, publicly responded
to your inquiry, about use of the T/Flite transmission, in traffic.

Old schoolers (and your Factory Service Manual) will tell you that the
"2" gear is good for around-town/traffic-light driving, as second gear
is operable to around 75 mph, when 3rd gear will over-ride second gear,
and kick-in.

For bumper-to-bumper crawling, "1" gear may be employed, for speeds
under 20mph.

The 'goal' is to prevent repetitive gear shifts, which can, eventually,
cause increased heat, and internal wear on the trannie .

2nd gear will also help in slow-down, on surface streets.
