No one slipped metric parts in with the standard for the block or the
fitting did they?

I had that kind of mess on a rat car I was driving last winter, but the
standard threads were bigger and I got it sealed with an interference fit.
This was the line feeding into the master, which was metric on this car
because it was considerably newer than a Forward Look.   But if you were
going the other way (IE metric fitting to standard thread junction block),
it might be possible to tighten it and have enough space it would leak
around just the same.

If it's from your own supply and you don't have metric parts, good question.
Still have the original lines to compare parts with?
