Is your fan belt tight?  If it is loose that would cause a discharge at
idle.

My 57 Belvedere has a red light problem.  The battery does not die but the
amp light stays on while idling.  I have oiled the generator and sanded the
points at the voltage regulator?  Anyone have any suggestions?    Also the
spring discussions state that 5 on the rear give a better ride height and
certain companies are better to buy from?  And I have rebuilt my master
cylinder for the last time.  Who makes the best new replacement brake parts?
