[FWDLK] 1959 Dodge Production

Okay, here;s a problem with the Krause book.

Seeing the listing for the $50K '59 Coronet made me look at the production
figures.

This book has the usual Note 1 stating 96,781 Coronets made out of a total
of 151,851 Dodges for the calendar year, with a "slightly rounded off
figure" of 96,600 Coronets figured for the model year.

But it also lists production totals for each bodystyle in the listings.

Only problem? The figures for Coronets only add up to about 24,000, Royal
about 15,000 and Custom Royal 21,000 plus another 23,000 wagons. That's
short by almost half on the other figures (about 83,000 total). The figures
for the upper models might be close (49,000 or so). In the historical
footnotes, there is a breakdown by body style of all models showing 29,610
2-door hardtops - the other figures don't add up to that.

So what's going on here? It looks like they pulled the figures for the
Coronet out of a hat somewhere, they don't make sense -
