The total number of '58 Mopar Bendix EFI fuel injection
equipped cars often quoted is 35. That includes a quite "sure" number of
18 Chrysler 300Cs, several but fewer DeSoto Adventurers, fewer Dodges and
perhaps no or only a couple of Plymouths. The Bob Dupin 300D hardtop
is now in the hands of an heir and is a documented car as are the Sherwood
Kahlenburg Ds and several others. The Regal Lancer was found and
reported by one of our ForwardLook list members and I haven't heard
anything about its documentation nor any restoration progress in a great
long while. Dodge was the only division to at least print a standard
dealer shop bulletin including info about the offering.
From time to time there are STILL to this day stories of
EFI units that "got away" from the Chrysler recall or of shop manuals for the
system. The most recent to my knowledge was with the last two
years.
