[FWDLK] A Norse is a Nourse, man

Mike, the Norseman was put into the hold (bowels) of the Anrea Doria.

I doubt that it would have been tied-down, as the lower levels ride out
storms very well, but if it weren't secured, it would have (and
might-have, anyway) been rolled-around, inside the hold, on its way to
the sea bed.

I suppose that the salvage divers (I wonder who was paying for their
time, and why) might have determined, from ship's documents, where the
car was loaded, in relation to the ship's attitude, lying on the ocean
floor, so that they might have figured out where to look for the car.

But, they still would have had to bring along some major cutting
equipment, to go thru the hull, because I can't believe that they would
have thought about trying to gain access to the hold, via
companionways/passages, etc!!!

So: short answer: I have never heard of anyone's having 'raised' (pun
intended) the Andrea Doria, looking for an old rusty Plymouth
Belevdere.....ooops; that's TULSA!!!

A few weeks ago I was on vacation checking my messages when the Norseman was
the topic for a few days. I was unable to send anything from where I was so
here it goes now.

Does anyone know of existing pictures of the Norseman taken by divers since
the Andrea Doria sunk? Automobile Magazine or Motor trend did a story on
her a good 5 or 6 years ago, and in it they interviewed a diver who was said
to be going down to take photo's of her in what ever condition she may have
been in at that time. There was also a site when a search is done that a
diver explains her condition, but no photo's.

So do any exist? If so has any one seen them and if so in what year or
years were they taken. This car has always been a mystery. It seems that
only 2 pictures were ever taken of her before her loss. From what I read on
that site its seems Miss Belvedere is in much better shape than her cousin.
