[FWDLK] CAST IRON TORQUEFLITE QUESTION



Hello List members.
 
I feel a bit dumb even asking this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but my transmission knowledge is minimal
 
I just had my CITF rebuilt.  I will be installing it so it is totally dry.
When shifting the lever on the trans to the different gears,,,all positions seem to turn the output shaft when you turn the imput shaft!
Even neutral or reverse dont seem to make a difference.
 
I am thinking that hydralic pressure (FROM FLUID AND A RUNNING ENGINE) are needed for the gear change to operate?????????????????????
