Hi everyone I’m looking for some help in resolving a
problem I am having with my 1955 new Yorker trunk. First off I replaced the
latch about a month ago and adjusted it by getting inside the trunk and it
worked great for a few weeks now the push button seems to be missing the latch
as I can not open the trunk today, I know it did work great. I had problems with
the old latch and welded an extension on it a few years ago. But the rotating
part was worn.
I would like to fix this problem and get the trunk opened
with out going back into the rear seat like I did a few years ago when the
latch acted up then.
Has anyone had a similar problem with there trunks and if so
what can I do to stop this for GOOD I though of an electric unit but the car
is 6 volts and I want to keep the car original.
I am taking the car to the Stowe Vermont 50 th year car show
next weekend and want to get this working again before I leave on Thursday.
Is anyone else going to this show??
