Family Announces Plans for the Future of Miss Belvedere

Tulsa, Okla. (November 7, 2007) – Robert Carney, the nephew of Raymond Humbertson, the winner of the 1957 Plymouth Belvedere announced Thursday, Nov. 1, plans to move the car from Tulsa to Hackettstown, New Jersey in an attempt to preserve the rusted car.

Carney and Dwight Foster of Ultra One Manufacturing have plans to preserve the car using environmentally-safe acid-free rust removing products developed by Ultra One.

Using a two-part system of Ultra One Degreaser followed by Safest Rust Remover, Ultra One plans to dip and wipe the car in the solutions to remove the rust and return the car to its once shiny exterior.

“We will not be restoring the car, but preserving her for the future.  We have to stop the rust because if nothing is done, this car will be a dust in two years.  The main purpose is to try to totally stabilize it by putting a clear coat on it so it won’t rust again,” Foster said.

Carney, representing his mother Levada Humbertson, 88, and his aunt Catherine Humbertson Johnson, 93, expressed the family’s wishes and announced plans to return to Tulsa on Nov. 29 in order to move the car to New Jersey

“This is Tulsa's car, and it will always be Tulsa's car," Foster said.

Carney and Foster plan to bring the Belvedere back to Tulsa next year to unveil the preserved car.  Foster’s Web site www.missbelvedere.com will reveal photos of the car throughout the year.
