Neil,

I had a similar experiance, however not as involved, though with a fellow
list member.  I offered to the list only, a usable rear bumper for a '58
Dodge.  The price was a whopping $0, niche, nada, free.  The member just
had to reimbursement me shipping, which from DE to CO ran about $70.  Now,
I find the majority of car-guys and our list members very honorable and
upstanding and thus I fronted the shipping cost and waited, and waited and
waited for reimbursement.  Well lesson learned (#11 on your list).  Being
short the $70 didn't ruin my Christmas (#6) that year though experiences
list this pushes me closer to #8.
