Re: [FWDLK] '59 Coronet 2dr trunk paint

Wayne -

I usually associate a black trunk lid with an LA-built car. But maybe Detroit used black for a short time ? When was the car built ?

Subject: [FWDLK] '59 Coronet 2dr trunk paint

Most of you know me as a '57 Chrysler 300C guy or '57 DeSotos.  Well this week I bought a '59 Dodge Coronet 2dr from Ft Worth, TX, with under 15K miles.
In my recollection all the '57-59 Dodge and Plymouths had gray inner trunk lids and this one surprised me by being gloss black!  It looks to be original on the 95% original white exterior paint car.  It is a Dodge Main, Detroit assembled car, not the LA assembly plant.
Do any other member's cars have black inside the trunk lids?
I have a lot to learn, so thanks.
