Re: [FWDLK] Motor wheel

Chrysler used 15" wheels from 1946 through 1956, although the 8-cylinder models switched in 1940. 15" wheels came back on the 1961-63 300 letter series and again on the 1969 models.

DeSoto used 15" wheels from 1942 through 1956 (except some LWB models in the 1940's with 16" wheels). 1957-62 models had 14" wheels.

Dodge switched from 16" wheels to 15" in 1948 then to 14" for 1957. The Polara/Monaco models went back to 15" wheels for 1969.

Imperials used 15" wheels from 1955 to 1956 and again from 1960 to 1975. 1957 to 1959 models used 14" wheels.

Plymouth replaced their 16" wheels for 15" units in 1949, then to 14" wheels for 1957. Again, 15" wheels appeared on the Fury again for 1969.

These are the standard equipment applications. 15" wheels were optional for most makes in many of the years 14" wheels were offered, usually for police, taxi or performance use.

The compacts used 13" wheels in the 1960's with 14" wheels optional from 1964 while B body cars had 14" wheels.

Good information about the wheels. Can you clearify which of these wheels were 14" and which were 15", as during this period some of those cars used 15" then changing to 14" as years progressed.
