Well, AFAIK there's no "EASY" way, but it does help to smear a little grease on the gasket to hold it in place while installing the canister.

Subject: [FWDLK] What is the secret to changing oil filters on 331 and 354 Hemis ('55 & '56Nyers)

Friends....

Please tell me that there is an easy way to change the oil filters for the 1955 and 1956 Chryslers with the 331/354 hemis. I have a really tough time getting to the filter, getting it seated properly, and getting it sealed.

The idiot who designed the location and the filter type ought to be exiled to Siberia.

If there is some secret, please let me know.
