If the booster fails on my 56 Fury with bellows booster, I fully expect to be able to stop the car, even if I have to put both feet on the brake peddle.

    For a simple "taste" of what this sensation would be like, try turning the ignition off some time while the car is in motion.  An empty parking lot might be a good choice for location.  Works the same for power steering.  One gets a good idea of the ponderous mass and weight, and an appreciation for how hard these parts work !
