  Don't care about style? Are you saying a '56 DeSoto lacks style because it has four doors? I have kids and I prefer four doors and to me they're cooler than 2 doors because they haven't been over priced by old farts like you. LOL. To each his own.

    I hope there wasn't a shill bidder, it saddens me when people can't play nice. I called a friend/client on it when I learned that he had a friend put in a "starter bid". I lost a little respect for him that day. Don't know if it'll change his ways, I doubt I'm that influential but maybe...

It's worth what it brings. It sounds like he has a shill bidder, and at some point they'll not bid and the winner was bid way up. If the last shill bid doesn't get -bid, they can offer it to the next (legitimate) bidder, as a second offer opportunity.
I think the problem is that some of these boomers grew up with not much interest about cars, and now buy "an old car" just to enjoy. Us old farts grew up wanting and driving only coupe and 'verts, wouldn't be caught dead in a "all door". So they have the most value, and the also-rans are bringing more money due to the buyers not caring about style and the lack of reasonable coupes and 'verts.

The collector car price guide shows a #2 car @ $11,900 and a #1 car @ $17,000.00 this car is very nice but not a true #1 car, maybe 13 years ago but not now...
