Re: [FWDLK] 58 color

Jim -

The color is Copper Glow poly. Paint code N. The 'poly' implies that it's a metallic color. Best description of the color is that it looks like a brand new penny.

All paint chips that you can buy don't show the color correctly, due to the rapid oxidation of the metallics in the pigment. The chips end up looking brownish-yellow, like a circulated penny.

Subject: [FWDLK] 58 color

a few people replied last time to a color question with a helpful link to factory color chips, perhaps the same info can be brought forth again,

i have a customer's 58 plymouth wagon in, it sports decent original paint on a rust free CA body, however it will undergo a near full resto re-starting in a week or 2.
the color appears to be the bronze used on the hardtops in the original plymouth promo ads, though somewhat faded, it can appear gold, however the color revealed under the heater housing gaskets leans towards a pinkish bronze.  any thoughts on the original color name or code?

2 photos by means of the following links.  feel free to browse the rest of the photobucket as well.
