After having several sets of brake shoes relined, I'm convinced that's the way to go if the shoes aren't too worn. Fairly cheap too.

 

In general I'm shying away from some "NOS" parts just because the shelf wear could cause safety issues.  For example brake hoses, which can look fine but lose their integrity.

 

Last brake job they wanted to turn all the drums and I said 'no,' got them to measure them carefully and even them up without just slapping them on a machine and taking off too much metal.

Ok, this might come across as a stupid question but here it goes. 

 

Does anyone know a website that I can order new brakes for my 1956 Plymouth Belvedere??  I am new to the shoppping around for parts for an older car, but I am DETERMINED to have my baby out on the road this summer.  I looked at the sites that I knew carried parts but none of them carry the brake shoes for a 1956  Please help!!
