Re: [FWDLK] intake manifold '55

i think the yes may have been that the 260 and 270 polys interchange- i had a 56 savoy with a 270 poly, but in seeing a hemi version of the same engine- i think the hemi intake was narrower- like a 331/354 poly in the years after the respective 331/354 hemis- those are far different.

i'd go as far as finding a part number for intake gaskets- just before you buy an intake that may not work- if the ports are the same... perhaps the actual intakes will interchange? if it had a valley to intake gasket like a later small block or chevy/ford engine- the gasket part numbers would be the clincher- since the width of the intake would be denoted in gasket form...

Thanx for the replies.  I have one "yes" with part numbers and one "no."

Figure someone out there will know--  Will an intake manifold from a 260 poly fit a 270 hemi?  The 260 was the '55 only Plymouth version, 270 was '55 Dodge only and 270 poly was used in '55-'56 Dodges and some '56 Plymouths.
