[FWDLK] 1956 Plymouth, Dodge cowl vent gasket needed

Dave and FLML,

I purchased the repro cowl vent seal from Metro #RP100 but it seems a bit thick especially at the windshield side of the gasket; has anyone found the same issue or is there another repro gasket that fits better?

Also, what do we use to replace the cracked/worn rubber grommet and seal that slides onto the cowl vent rod?

Thank you in anticipation of help here.

Bill,

You can see how I did the tranny transplant on my web page at:

BlankOK gang, I"m looking at a 57 Dodge fairly close to me, and wondering about upgrades.

Can a later model 904 or 727 be mated to a 325? Which also makes me wonder can newer style rear backing plates and emer. brakes be used in the FL cars?

Want to keep original engine, which may have a spun bearing, but not too worried about the trans and rear, or at least brakes.
