Roger,
  I had a 55 Plymouth and had to replace the "U" tube heater hose with 
another one that I think fit an early Mustang.  I got it at my local NAPA 
dealer.  I can't remember the hose number, but it was formed like a "U" and 
all I had to do was cut it to length and it fit just fine.  If only I could 
find the number.
