Re: [FWDLK] 350 Block Questions

If you need bearing caps, i have a few sets- but as ed stated, they'll need to be milled down and line bored attached to the block for alignment/concentricity

as for 350 apps... it is a 1958-only engine, in a plymouth it was available only as the golden commando, dual quad 305 hp version, for [dodge chassis] desotos [fireweeps]- it was the base engine as a 2bbl, though still 10:1 compression.
now for dodge.... it was in dodge trucks, and though some here actually have the cars with the carry-over dodge poly in 58... the only 58 coronet i had was a 2bbl 350 parts car with under 50k on it...

i'm at work so all my "car encyclopedias" are at home... but i'm pretty sure dodges did use them, if uncommon in passenger cars, perhaps it was a wagon thing, but definitely a truck issue motor.

all the old timers say, oh, thats a dodge engine- when i speak of a 350

HI DAN
No bearing caps???
That is NG
You will have to get some from a 361 or 383 and have the block align bored to make it useable.

The 350 was one year only---1958
It was put in the GOLDEN COMMANDO PLYMOUTH--(could be ANY MODEL!!)

It was also used in MOSTLY the 2bbl version in base DESOTOS and MOSTLY a 4bbl version for DODGE and DODGE station wagons

I have 2 GOLDEN COMMANDO PLYMOUTH blocks,,,both are casting # of 1737629
That does not mean you dont have a 350.
There may have been more than one casting time and place for the 350.
The 361s had about 5 different casting numers throughout the years.

On the front pad of the block,,,along with the sn,,,should be what it was used for
ie: L-350 would be for the plymouth

Is your block UNUSED? Did you measure the bore???

HAVE FUN

Today I picked up a 350 block from a fellow in  Everett, WA.
It's just a bare block -- no crank, bearing caps,  heads, etc.

Can you guys help me verify that it's the real  deal?
Here are the numbers on the block:

casting no. 1461416
date    7-15

no. on pad at front  5562119057
Is this the VIN from the car it came from? If so,  what does it decode to?

Lastly, other than the 58 Fury, which other cars  could have had 350s in them?

Thanks for any help.
