Re: [FWDLK] spamming eBay?

If you start your ebay search, for 1957 Dodge stuff, on the
FWDLK's website's Ebay-page (which lists all of the
FWDLK era cars on it, very conveniently).....
you'll see: "Dodge(1957, '57, 57)" displayed, with
4,419 item listed under that search-header.

To refine your personal parts search, right after YOUR car's identification
is displayed, you start eliminating the code-words that you do NOT want to
be shown.

The following is my personal Ebay listing (yours will vary, but, all you
have to do is find common words/terms (like K&N) for the items that
you do not want to have be displayed on your personal listings....so, without further ado....

Dodge (1957,57,'57)-("K&N")-("bumper")-("caravan")-("car cover")-("sign")-("suburban")- ("floor mats")-("truck")-("new")("compressor")- ("control arm")-("seat covers")-("seat cushion")- ("sun shade")-("steering wheel cover")-("map sensor")-("grille")-(window")-("nob")-("knob")-("LED")

Applying the above 'eliminations' to the 4,419 "1957 Dodge" listings reduces it to 1,601 items,
on 9 pages containing 200 items per page.

Try this search: (1955, 55) Plymouth
The items in the parentheses are either/or: eBay will find both 1955 and 55, or either.
Then click "Advanced" at the end of the search line.
On the advanced page, the 2nd box can contain a list of items you DO NOT want, such as car "covers". Farther down the page, in the "Sellers" section, you can list sellers you DO NOT want to buy from. Click the "exclude" in the "include/exclude" box. I found it easiest to open a Word document and collect all the sellers to exclude in a list as you use eBay, then copy & paste it into this box on eBay. Put a comma between them.

Bob,

That's exactly what I do to get the 55 ply listing--all spammed pages come up!

Jesus,

Try this: 1955 (Plymouth) or 55 (Plymouth)

The parenthesis seems to filter out the junk.

Subject: [FWDLK] spamming eBay?

I am an avid eBay browser always looking for a replacement part to keep my '55 Ply 6 cyl Belv running. Today, I saw nearly 133 pages on plymouth stuff which got me excited and thinking that surely new stuff was there to look at. To my amazement, it was page after page of seat covers, wheel covers and every single post was identical! I was upset/angry that I signed off when I hit page 90 or so. I don't know if some of you out there have experienced the same thing. The ony thing I can think off is that this insididous practice is a deservice to eBay sellers and buyers alike, because when I see spammed pages I tend to scroll fast knowing that I usually miss out on items worth looking at.

I can understand duplicating one or two posted items, but pages after pages of the same stuff? I wonder why eBay allows such spaming to take place. I don't see any purpose other than frustrating the buyer. By the way, there were at least 16 to 20 pages of unspammed items out of 133.

Sorry for the ranting
