Wow...thanks for the plethora of responses!

 

The resounding answer of "no paint" or "overspray only" makes perfect sense.  I also appreciated the specific recommendations, such as:

   - Eastwood's Exhaust Manifold Paint (#103640Z)

   - POR-15 Manifold Gray

   - PPG Concept (#DCC 8568 - for engine blocks)
