Been so long since I had to arc any brake shoes (around 40 years and that on big rigs) I couldn’t recall any actual dimensions.

You have the nomenclature correct.  Shoes must be arched a min. of .020" under drum ID. If you have a 12" drum you need to arch shoes 11.980".
