[FWDLK] Solid State Voltage Regulators for Generators

 I also agree with Roger.

My Dodge still has the original generator and voltage regulator, 69,000 miles. The regulator still has the lead rivet seal on the cover.

Just for safety, I added voltage regulator fuses to the regulator terminals.

I agree with Roger. In my 56 Plymouth I think I changed mine once since 1989.

The regulators on my ol’ MoPars seem to go for decades.  I suspect you  have a problem somewhere in your charging system.  Also, are you polarizing  the regulator when you replace it or hook up a new battery?  It only takes  a second with a jumper wire.

Those regulators I’ve replaced with new ones from NAPA, they fit and work  right, though they may be a tad different internally than the original.

Subject: [FWDLK] : [FWDLK] Solid State Voltage Regulators for  Generators

I  am tired of replacing the voltage regulator on my 56  DeSoto.

I  was looking for a solid state voltage regulator and was preparing to send mine  to Wilton Auto Electric but just saw today that they closed their doors on July  19, 2013. The Owner passed away.

Does  anyone have another source or an idea?

Thanks,
Walter  Landry
