The '56 Dodge pushbutton unit was used in later Dodge trucks with 
TorqueFlite.  Those units will retrofit into a '56 Dodge passenger car 
housing.  Not sure about '56 Chrysler.  '56 Plymouth is different.

I want to install a 3 speed in a 56 300 B----I have a trans. from a 62 D100 
pick-up----I do have the correct 3 speed bezel and buttons-----I see no way 
we can use the powerflite shifter unit----or the 57 3 speed shifter 
unit-----has anyone ever used the 57 unit with the 56 Bezel and
