As others mentioned, the '56 has a rubber housing and a large rectangle in 
the fender into which the rubber snaps.  The lens snaps into the front 
groove of the rubber and has no screws.  After losing the lens on my '56 a 
few times due to cracked rubber I installed a pair of '55 units by 
fabricating plates to screw over the rectangular holes.  The '55 lens screws 
onto the pot metal housing which bolts onto the fender.

There's another difference between '55 and '56 front fenders.  The stainless 
trim is mounted higher on the '55.  The '56 stainless is almost down to the 
front wheel lip.  Unless you find a Plaza fender without trim mounting 
holes, you'll have to fill and drill new trim holes.

I have two fenders off of a 55 plymouth belvedere and they appear different. 
One has a recess where the parking light is mounted and the other has a 
protrusion where it is mounted. Could one of the possibly be a 56 fender?
